Morva Rohani’s journey from Tehran, Iran, to Vancouver and then Toronto, Canada, encapsulates the challenges and aspirations of an immigrant family seeking better opportunities.
With vivid childhood memories of Iran, the transition to Canada brought both awe and hardship, particularly witnessing her parents struggle to find work in their fields. This early experience instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and independence, leading her to start working at the age of 13.
Her passion for blockchain technology is deeply rooted in her desire for decentralization and empowerment, qualities that contrast with the controlled flow of information she experienced in Iran.
Through her advocacy work, she aims to propel Canada’s digital economy forward, leveraging blockchain to create a more inclusive, decentralized, and globally connected world.
Morva’s advice to newcomers and her efforts in the blockchain community reflect a commitment to ensuring others do not face the same obstacles her family did upon their arrival in Canada
Morva Rohani is the founding Executive Director of the Canadian Web3 Council (CW3), a non-profit trade association advocating for the growth of Web3 in Canada. At CW3, She spearheads initiatives to engage regulators and policymakers, fostering a conducive policy landscape for Web3’s thriving ecosystem in Canada.
A seasoned policy strategist within the technology sector, Morva has a distinguished record of facilitating market access and fostering growth for emerging industries. Her advocacy extends from local to global stages, having influenced policy frameworks in Canada and across strategic regions including the US, EU, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific.
Morva’s career is marked by significant achievements, including key legislative changes and partnerships that have catalyzed industry growth, reflecting her substantial impact on the technology policy landscape. Morva holds a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Toronto.
